Possum is a small marsupial native to New Zealand, where it is considered a pest. They are regulated so that the large population does not damage the ecosystem in New Zealand. Possum has a very fine undercoat, and these are the fibers we use for the yarn. The fibers are hollow, which makes the yarn very warm. The fibers are short, like those in our mink yarn, and therefore you will not find 100% Possum, but instead it is spun together with other luxury fibers, which absolutely does not make it any worse.
