Gray Yak

Yak bases are some of our best-selling bases and it's not surprising!

They are great for allergy sufferers or sensitive people, as they do not contain lanolin, which is often one of the things our bodies react to. Our yak/silk bases are excellent for summer tops or shawls and they have a fantastic drape/weight. This also means we recommend knitting these yarns about 3 - 5 cm shorter than you want them, as they often give slightly in length.

If you are unsure whether you can tolerate it, make a swatch and wear it on your body to see how you react. Under the different bases you can read which category they fall into on our AKW scale.
