Mohair is not just mohair..... mohair is hair, not wool. Therefore, the shorter the hairs are, the more it will itch — similar to if we had been closely cropped. Economically, producers get more out of shearing the goats frequently and thus yield more yarn than letting them grow long-haired. The longer the hairs, the more they lie flat against our skin and therefore itch less. It is not recommended for allergy sufferers and therefore has a category C, but if you are just sensitive, I would still recommend trying this one, as it really is different. This luxury mohair runs only 350m per 50g. It becomes very thick if you knit with two strands. Therefore, for example, PetiteKnits "Kumulus sweater" would be fine in just a single strand of this mohair.
